Young Gemynds Kindergarten, Primary & Secondary School, owned by Mr. Anil Melwani and Mrs. Roshni Melwani has started operating in January 1998 with four teachers and eight students .The very first school was situated along Mao-TseTung Avenue, Maputo-Mozambique.

It didn’t take a long time for the school to establish its credibility to the public. The number of students kept on increasing and so there arose a need for bigger classrooms. Therefore in June of 2001, the School was shifted to Vladimir Lenine, Maputo, with more than hundred children, seven faculty members, and thirteen support staff. Today we have strength of 25 full fledged enthusiastic staff, well experienced, to cater to the ever growing need of 240 children coming from different walks of life.

Being known as a reputable and quality education giving school , and through publics’ request a new branch was opened in Beira , Mozambique in March 2001. To maintain its standard, three trained teachers and five support staff were placed to monitor more than 20 children. Still a plan of appointing more teachers was in line as the number of enrollees kept on increasing. Young Gemynds School, Beira now nurtures 50 students under the assistance of 06 trained teachers and 08 support staff.

Owing to the reputation of the main branch in Maputo, Vladimir Lenine, there came a sincere request from the residents of Xai - Xai to establish a branch of Young Gemynds, Maputo. After earnest efforts, Young Gemynds, Xai-Xai was established in January 2002. Today this branch is imparting qualitative education to 30 students under the able guidance of 04 qualified teachers and 05 support staff.

With the untiring efforts of the Director Mr. Anil Melwani and the Directress Mrs. Roshni Anil Melwani, the school has been able to gain a firm footing in order to achieve the goals and objectives that the school strives for.

It is indeed a credit to the management, staff and well wishers, with whose help and support the school has reached remarkable heights in a short span of 7 years.

Young Gemynds School is well – known all over Mozambique for its unique series of Science Exhibitions which Inculcate a sense of confidence and curiosity among the students of the school and its various branches. Our goal is to mould the children and help them to discover their hidden talents and capabilities. We believe that children are more receptive to new learning experiences at particular times. Careful observations and analyses has led the well versed and trained teachers to recognize and meet the needs of the children in today’s complex world. Young Gemynds School is a cosmopolitan institution catering to students of different cultures and language abilities to become independent learners and effective communicators in English. Young Gemynds School prepares students with the knowledge, discipline, and skills to succeed at the university level and contribute to the multicultural world of the 21st century. Our institution aims at molding the overall character of the students and making them ‘Brilliant Gems’, integrating moral values like honesty, loyalty, patience, sportsmanship, co-operation, and other values, which are, incorporated into every subject as well as through constant reminders in the daily assembly, so that they not only excel in academics but also have a ‘Healthy mind in a healthy body'.
